Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met Mr. Denisov Andrey, Russian Ambassador to China, in Beijing on May 23, 2016. The two sides exchanged views on the upcoming G20 Agriculture Ministers Meeting and China-Russia agricultural cooperation. 

 

Vice Minister Qu noted that China and Russia are close neighbors, enjoying constantly growing political mutual-trust, high complementarities in agriculture, and increasingly closer agricultural cooperation. To further the agricultural cooperation, Vice Minister Qu put forward a three-point proposal as below: (1) jointly bring into full play the roles of China and Russia in the multilateral mechanisms such as G20 to contribute to world food and agricultural affairs; (2) increase personnel exchanges at all levels to enhance mutual understanding and promote cooperation in agriculture and; (3) work together to further promote the bilateral cooperation in agricultural production, processing and trade.

 

Ambassador Denisov Andrey agreed with Vice Minister Qu on his proposal, expressing that both Minister and Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation will attend the G20 Agriculture Ministers Meeting. He wishes the Meeting a great success.
